Steven platt
Steve grew up in Newlyn and Hayle. After graduating from Coventry University he started a career in car design living and working in Paris. Now based in the UK, he still feels very connected with his Cornish roots.
His work captures a sense of Cornwall from a local perspective, glimpses of the seascape from a far, from behind and inbetween coastal architecture. There is a nostalgic element to his work, portrayed in a contemporary manner. The essence of place is very important, with compositions carefully crafted leaving the overall environment to the viewers imagination.
