This July, The Summerhouse Gallery is proud to present a new and highly anticipated solo exhibition by Kit Johns. Best-known for his striking seascapes painted onto reclaimed nautical charts and rare vintage maps, Kit’s work offers a layered and tactile connection to the dramatic Cornish landscapes that inspire him.

In this new body of work, he explores the shifting moods of Cornwall throughout the year, capturing the quiet energy of seasonal change. Moving through four phases, the collection reflects on the beauty in the contrast of seasons by the sea, and the emotional tides that ebb and flow with them.
