helen leaver: Spring Collection
Helen's oil paintings are portals to tranquillity, emerging from the place between the conscious and subconscious, searching for space inside herself, finding a deeper innate connection.
About her process, Helen says, "I take notes of shapes and outlines of the gaps, or spaces between objects and using a type of shorthand I record my sensory experience. Deciphering these marks and symbols in the sanctuary of my garden studio in mid-Cornwall, I patiently apply and edit multiple layers of oil paint responding intuitively over many weeks or even months. I find the act of painting a meditative experience, a joyful way to process my emotions and I find that incorporating found Cornish ochre pigment into the works acts as a way of anchoring me to the present moment".
